Nowadays media addiction is becoming a major problem for modern societies. The establishment of ‘internet addiction rehab centers’ is a good sign that indulging in the use of internet (as the primary source of modern media consumption) is becoming a dangerous epidemic that needs clinical treatment. It is safe to assume that while using the internet, and being bombarded by information, our attention can be distracted and steered to directions set by the owners of media outlets. The irony is that although we have better and faster access to information, we often don’t have the time to contemplate on, and distinguish all that is (not) provided, let alone what we are lied about.
